CricBattle Daily Fantasy Cricket League Tips

England v Pakistan on July 14

·         The eagerly awaited series between England and Pakistan finally starts on 14 July at Lords. The hosts had a brilliant start to their summer, whitewashing Sri Lanka 3-0 at home in a series that showed the difference in talent and confidence level between the two sides. England come into this series in high spirits. Their recent exploits in all three forms of the game have shown the world how much they have improved over time. Skipper Alastair Cook leads a team who know their job and do it efficiently. The visitors Pakistan and in particular pace-bowler Mohammad Amir returns to the venue where one of the biggest controversies in cricket took place. The Pakistan team is vastly different from the one seen six years ago. Led by Misbah-ul-Haq, the Men in Green have in Younis Khan, Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq batsmen who are capable of playing for long periods. The bowling attack looks promising with Amir, Wahab Riaz, Rahat Ali and spinner Yasir Shah in their ranks.

·         Best economical pick – The English wicket keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow who had a fruitful series against Sri Lanka will look to continue his dominance against Pakistan also. He was the top run scorer for England in the series against Sri Lanka.

·         Top captains & vice captains – The backbone of English team Mr. Dependable Joe Root now promoted to number three by England have a phenomenal record in tests this year. After scoring heavily in the previous series against Sri Lanka Root will want to continue his good form in this series also. Pakistan's Mohammad Amir will hope to put the 2010 spot-fixing scandal behind him once and for all when he returns to the scene of the crime in Thursday's first Test against England at Lord's.

·         Smart pick – One of Pakistan's modern batting greats, Younis Khan is the kind of man who responds best in adversity. Probably the best batsman Pakistan has ever produced. He have an average of 54.55 with over 9000 test runs with his name.

·       Cautions Pick – It will be interesting to see how Gary Ballance copes with the Pakistani pacers, considering he was dropped not too long ago as his technique was found wanting.

My XI – Joe Root (Captain), Mohammad Amir (Vice-Captain), Jonny Bairstow, Younis Khan, Asad Shafiq, Steven Finn, Yasir Shah, Moeen Ali, Jake Ball, Shan Masood, Sami Aslam
