CEO Message: Guidelines regarding Playoffs format and Trades reset during Playoffs by Soumya Ghosh,1263 days ago

After over 1.5 months of cricketing action, IPL is approaching the knockout stages. We have seen some good knocks, some sharp catches and some super over matches . This year the competition is so close that not untill the last group match ends, the final teams qualified for playoffs will be unknown. Now as only 2 days are left until the group stage ends, so we will be providing you with some guidelines regarding the playoffs format at Cricbattle.

1. Those who have Playoffs format enabled in their private leagues:
Top 4 teams in league standings after 56th match, will play 57, 58, 59, 60 matches. Other teams will be eliminated. It will be IPL style playoff including the Qualifiers, Eliminator and Final.
Note: Double match points are not applicable during playoff matches if playoffs format is enabled

Follow the below steps to make teams during playoffs.

Salary Cap Leagues:
a. After the league stage is completed the playoff schedule is generated and the Team managers are decided for Qualifier1 and Eliminator match.
b. You will see a menu called as Playoff in your league menu. From where you can access all the stages of playoff round.
c. In each stage of the playoff schedule you will have to create a new team comprising the players who are playing at that stage.
For example if Qualifier 1 is being played between Delhi vs Chennai. Then the Team Managers who qualified for Qualifier 1 will have to create team by selecting players playing in the Chennai vs Delhi match
d. Each manager will play Head to Head against an opponent and the winner will progress to the next round as per playoffs schedule.
e. In the Playoff page you will get different buttons to access the respective pages for the specific round. For example Matchup, Manage Team etc

Draft Leagues:
a. After the league stage is completed the playoff schedule is generated and the Team managers are decided for Qualifier1 and Eliminator match.
b. You will see a menu called as Playoff in your league menu. From where you can access all the stages of playoff round.
c. In each stage of the playoff schedule you will have to play draft with your opponent to create a new team comprising the players who are playing at that stage.
For example if Qualifier 1 is being played between Delhi vs Chennai. Then the Team Managers who qualified for Qualifier 1 will have to play draft to create their team by selecting players playing in the Chennai vs Delhi match
d. Each manager will play Head to Head against an opponent and the winner will progress to the next round as per playoffs schedule.
e. In the Playoff page you will get different buttons to access the respective pages for the specific round. For example Trade Players, Matchup, Manage Team etc

2. Trade reset during playoffs for leagues in which customization has been enabled:
This setting is applicable for the leagues in which Playoff Format is disabled. Since the playoffs are just round the corner, so we request league managers to configure these rules before the end of the last group stage match.

There are 4 settings related to it. League managers can enable these settings in their private leagues. Let me explain each of those settings

a. “Allow separate trades during playoff matches” – This means if you select yes for this option then only the trades will get reset during playoffs stage. If you select yes then only the below 2 settings will be considered. Or else the number of trades allowed will be considered for the whole tournament.
b. “No of trades during Playoffs” – In this setting you can choose the number of trades you want to allow during playoffs
c. “Allow free trades until 1st match of Playoff starts” – If you select this settings to yes then everyone in your league can do unlimited trades after the last match of group stage starts till the start of the 1st match of playoffs.
d. “Free Trades for Each Day/Round during Playoffs” – This setting will let you choose the number of free trades to be offered for each day / round during Playoffs. Not applicable if No. Of trades during Playoffs are unlimited.

The leagues in which playoffs format is enabled, they will already have unlimited trades during Qualifiers, Eliminators and Final. So the above settings will not be applicable for those leagues.
