South Africa vs India on December 10

South Africa and India will play the first T20I of the three-match series on Sunday (December 10) at the Kingsmead in Durban. A three-match ODI series and a two-match Test series will follow the T20I series. Suryakumar Yadav has again been assigned the captaincy duty of the Indian team. Under his leadership, India recently defeated Australia in the five-match T20I series. Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohammed Siraj have been added to the squad. Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Prasidh Krishna, and Avesh Khan, who were a part of the Indian team against Australia, have been omitted from this tour. Aiden Markram will captain the Proteas in this series, and they have some new faces in the squad. Quinton de Kock has not been picked and is currently busy playing in BBL. Kagiso Rabada has been rested for the white-ball leg of the series and will be back for the Test series. David Bedingham, Nandre Burger, and Mihlali Mpongwana have been picked up on the Proteas side for the first time.

Best economical pick – Ravi Bishnoi was in excellent form during the T20I series against Australia. He bagged nine wickets in five games at an average of 18.22 and an economy rate of 8.20 on high-scoring pitches. Bishnoi's bag of tricks would be tough for the South African batters to pick. He also bowls at high speeds and that could make stroke-making difficult for the opposition batters.

Top captains & vice captains Aiden Markram is a fabulous player in the shortest format of the game. He has played 33 innings, in the format, for the Proteas and has scored 1063 runs at an average of 39.37 and a strike rate of 149.51. Markram was in good form during the ODI World Cup 2023 and also smashed a century off just 49 balls in a game against Sri Lanka. Yashasvi Jaiswal finished as the third-highest run-scorer against Australia. He amassed 138 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 168.29.

Smart pick – Marco Jansen took 17 wickets in nine matches in the ODI World Cup at an average of 26.47. He will likely play a key role for the team in this series.

Cautious Pick – Lungi Ngidi has been ruled out of the series with a left lateral ankle sprain and can be skipped in fantasy teams.

My XI – Aiden Markram (Captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal (Vice-Captain), Ravi Bishnoi, Marco Jansen, Heinrich Klassen, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, David Miller
