Punjab vs Rajasthan on April 13

Punjab Kings will host Rajasthan Royals in Match 27 of the Indian Premier League 2024. Both teams are coming off defeats. They will aim to bounce back when they face each other at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur in Chandigarh on Saturday, April 13. The visitors lost their first match of the season, as Gujarat Titans beat them by three wickets in a last-ball thriller. However, they still rule the points table with eight points. On the other hand, PBKS are currently in the eighth position after losing three out of five matches. They were inches closer to victory in the last game, but unfortunately, they ended up losing. Despite losing the last game, RR still looks like one of the most formidable teams in the tournament. However, they have lost the winning momentum, and Punjab will look to capitalize on it.

Best economical pick – We are witnessing the 2.0 version of Riyan Parag this season. The right-handed batter has amassed 261 runs in five matches, including three half-centuries, and is currently the second-highest run-getter.

Top captains & vice captains – PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan could be the best batter in game 27 of the ongoing IPL 2024. With 174 runs in his last five matches, Dhawan has been instrumental in giving his side a good start. Putting the past results behind him, he will be keen on continuing to give a solid start and build his innings against Rajasthan Royals as well. Sanju Samson is currently the fourth-highest run-scorer in the tournament with 246 runs, including three fifties. The RR skipper scored 68 runs in their last match against GT and looks to be in top form.

Smart pick – Ace RR pacer Trent Boult could be the best bowler in game 27 of the IPL 2024. With five wickets in five matches, Boult has been brilliant for the Royals, and Punjab will be wary of the Kiwi pacer’s opening spell in the game. Though the left arm quick hasn't fired in the last two games, he was very economical. He will be willing to give his team a breakthrough early in the innings.

Cautious Pick – Harshal Patel has not been consistent in taking wickets and has leaked a lot of runs. The pitch for the upcoming match is in favour of batting and the right-arm pacer is likely to have another poor outing.

My XI – Shikhar Dhawan (Captain), Sanju Samson (Vice-Captain), Riyan Parag, Trent Boult, Jos Buttler, Kagiso Rabada, Sam Curran, Shimron Hetmyer, Shasank Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Yuzvendra Chahal
