Mumbai vs Bengaluru on April 11

Mumbai Indians (MI) began the season with three successive losses before winning against Delhi Capitals. If it wasn’t for the last over heroics of Romario Shepherd, the MI team were in huge trouble. The bowling especially the spin department still remains a concern with Piyush Chawla’s performance going from bad to worse. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have played five games this season and lost four of them. Virat Kohli has been the shining light with the bat but just like Mumbai, even RCB bowlers have been struggling for form. One more loss in this season of the IPL could spell trouble for Faf Dun Plessis and his team.

Best economical pick – 25-year-old Ishan Kishan came into IPL 2024 needing to prove a point to the selectors and to the fans. So far the left-handed batter and wicketkeeper hasn’t been that successful. His 42 against Delhi Capitals might be the start that he was looking for and hopefully on a run-scoring spree.

Top captains & vice captains – Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Virat Kohli could be the best batter in game 25 of the IPL 2024. With 316 runs in five games, including two fifties and a century in the last game, Kohli is currently the tournament’s highest run-getter and the current holder of the Orange Cap. Kohli will be keen on putting in another good showing against Mumbai Indians and potentially propelling his side to their second win of the season. The former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma was at this aggressive best against Delhi Capitals. It was his 49 runs with the bat that helped Mumbai Indians get an early advantage. If Rohit Sharma can keep the same form going then the MI faithfuls will be in for a huge day.

Smart pick – Jasprit Bumrah could be the best bowler in the upcoming game against the Bengaluru-based franchise. He has maintained his exceptional form throughout the ongoing event and is eager to sustain his excellent bowling performance in the upcoming game as well. Bumrah has been MI's most economical bowler and with five wickets in four games, the right-arm pacer will be looking to pick those crucial wickets for his side.

Cautious Pick – Mumbai Indians spinner Piyush Chawla has seen his confidence and form take a huge nosedive. From capturing over 20 wickets last season to becoming the most expensive bowlers in the last few games, Chawla has seen it all. One more bad performance and we could very well see the curtains drawn for Piyush Chawla this season.

My XI – Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma (Vice-Captain), Ishan Kishan, Jasprit Bumrah, Glenn Maxwell, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Dinesh Karthik, Faf du Plessis, Romario Shepherd, Tim David
