Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals will be facing each other in the 31st match of the IPL 2024. The match is set to take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. It will be a clash of table toppers and arguably the two best sides in the league so far. Both teams have been impressive and found their own ways to succeed in the league so far. While RR has an insane prowess in bowling, KKR has a great batting order. RR has a brilliant new-ball duo in Trent Boult and Nandre Burger. But the latter is likely to be benched due to the team combination. As a backup to Burger, RR has Avesh Khan who has been bowling well in the ongoing season. They also have experienced bowlers like Yuzvendra Chahal, Keshav Maharaj, and Ravichandran Ashwin in their lineup. In addition to it, RR has Adam Zampa and several other great bowlers in their lineup, making them the most potent attack. KKR has found success on the back of their batting. Their overseas opening pair of Phil Salt and Sunil Narine has done wonders, being arguably the best opening pair of the season. Their finishers have been amazing and the younger batters have stepped up to the occasion. The likes of Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Ramandeep Singh have played a good knock. Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer need to be better. The winner of the battle between KKR batters and RR bowlers would probably have the bigger say on the result. 

Best economical pick – Riyan Parag has been the best batter of RR in the ongoing season. The youngster has won a lot of matches for them with his batting performances. The right-handed batter is the second-hight run scorer in the ongoing season.

Top captains & vice captains – Sanju Samson has been brilliant as a batter and as a wicketkeeper. The star player has been one of the best batters in the league and kept wickets well, claiming some stunning catches. Even as a skipper, he has been good so far. Andre Russell has been good as a player in the ongoing season. With the bat, he has played impactful knocks lower down the order. With the ball, he has claimed wickets to break partnerships. Either way, he has contributed to the team.

Smart pick – Philip Salt can take the game away from the opponents in a matter of a few overs. When on song, he is nearly unstoppable. The aggressive batter has been one of the key reasons behind the success of KKR. He has been good behind the wickets too.

Cautious Pick – Dhruv Jurel has not been at his best in the ongoing league. The youngster probably needs a bit of time in the middle. Since he has not been able to make an impact, it is better to avoid him in the team for the game against KKR.
