India vs Sri Lanka on January 7

India and Sri Lanka will play the third T20I of the ongoing series on Saturday at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. India won the first game by a mere margin of two runs after posting a total of 162 runs on the board. The inexperience of the bowling unit almost cost them the game. The bowlers were tested in the second T20I and failed completely. The Sri Lankan middle order failed to contribute in the first game, but the batting unit clicked in the last game. The batters posted a humongous total of 206 runs on the board in 20 overs. Umaran Malik did pick three wickets for the team but gave away 48 runs. Sri Lanka managed to solve most of the issues they had in the first game and, hence, could outperform the Indian team. They won their first T20I against India in India since February 2016.

Best economical pick – Rahul Tripathi made his T20I debut in the last game after playing 125 matches. He was given the number three position to bat but failed to deliver a significant knock. He has been in decent form recently and can play an important role if he bats in the same place.

Top captains & vice captains – The captain of the Sri Lankan team Dasun Shanaka has made 101 runs in two matches so far and is the leading run-scorer. He scored 56 runs off 22 deliveries in the last game and picked two wickets to win the Player of the Match award. Axar Patel made 31 runs off 20 deliveries in the first game and helped India post a total of 162 runs. In the last game, he played a key role with the bat and ball. Axar picked two wickets for 24 runs in four overs and then made 65 runs off 31 deliveries.

Smart pick – The right-handed batter Suryakumar Yadav made 51 runs off 36 deliveries in the last game and almost helped the team cross the line. He will likely play a key role in this game and hence, is one of the best captaincy picks.

Cautious Pick – The 31-year-old all-rounder Dhananjaya de Silva has not been on the top of his mark in the series and has managed just 11 runs in two matches so far.

My XI – Dasun Shanaka (Captain), Axar Patel (Vice-Captain), Suryakumar Yadav, Rahul Tripathi, Deepak Hooda, Umran Malik, Chamika Karunaratne, Dilshan Madhusanka, Kusal Mendis, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya
