India vs Sri Lanka on January 15

India and Sri Lanka will play the third and last game of the ongoing ODI series on Sunday at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. India earned an unassailable lead in the previous game, which they won by four wickets. The journey of the Indian team in the last match was starkly contrasting in the first and the second half. The bowlers, particularly Kuldeep Yadav, asked the Sri Lankan batters many questions, which made them look puzzled. Mohammed Siraj, the best pacer for India in limited overs in the past year, again delivered for the team. The duo of Siraj and Kuldeep dismissed six Sri Lankan batters and pushed them to the backfoot. Apart from Nuwanidu Fernando, no other batter managed to score more than 50 runs for the team. Sri Lanka were bundled out for just 215 runs in 39.4 overs. The Indian team followed the path of their opponents, and by the time the 15th over was completed, they had lost the entire top order. KL Rahul, along with Hardik Pandya, added 75 runs for the fifth wicket and another 30 runs for the next wicket with Axar Patel. Rahul scored his slowest half-century in ODIs but managed to finish the work. Kuldeep played a cameo in the end with his innings of ten runs which included two boundaries.

Best economical pick – In the two ODIs, Kasun Rjitha has racked up four wickets and has the potential to deck the rival batting line-up. Furthermore, he will want to restrict the Indian side from targeting him and could also get the big sharks off the pitch quick.

Top captains & vice captains – Rohit Sharma had a terrific outing in the first contest between the two sides as he scored 83 runs from 67 balls. However, in the second ODI, the batter was dismissed in the initial couple of overs with a score of 17 runs. He will certainly be on the lookout to build a solid foundation as he opens the batting line-up and will aim for the big scores. Dasun Shanaka scored a century in the first game and picked a wicket as well. Shanka has been in great form with the bat in the past year and is one of the best picks for this game.

Smart pick – Shubman Gill is India’s second-best run-scorer in ODIs in the last year. The right-handed batter scored a half-century in the opening game and will likely conclude this series on a high note.

Cautious Pick – Charith Aalanka has scored just 38 runs in two matches in the series, and you can avoid picking him in your fantasy team.

My XI – Rohit Sharma (Captain), Dasun Shanaka (Vice-Captain), Umran Malik, Axar Patel, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Chamika Karunaratne, Kasun Rajitha, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Kusal Mendis
