India vs Sri Lanka on January 10

After winning the T20I series, India will host Sri Lanka in the first ODI of the three-match series on Tuesday at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The Indian team will be led by Rohit Sharma, who missed the recently concluded T20I series. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul are also back in the squad, along with Shreyas Iyer. The trio were not a part of the T20I series squad. Hardik Pandya, who led the side in the T20I series, has been named the deputy to Rohit and last played an ODI back in July last year against England. In the bowling department, Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh are also in the team. Both of them were also a part of the T20I series. Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj are the two other pacers in the team. Shami last played an ODI in July last year. The duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav are the two spinners in the squad; however, only one of them might make it to the playing 11 in this game.

Best economical pick – Axar Patel won the Player of the Series award in the T20I series for his all-round performance. He made 117 runs at a strike rate of 195 and picked three wickets.

Top captains & vice captains – Virat Kohli scored his 44th century in his last outing against Bangladesh. He made over 1300 runs in international cricket last year at an average of 38.51 and made two centuries and 11 half-centuries. Kusal Mendis made 103 runs in the three T20Is at a strike rate of 145.07 and was the second-highest run-scorer for Sri Lanka. The 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batter made 388 runs in 11 innings last year at an average of 48.5.

Smart pick – The Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka was the leading run-scorer for his team in the T20I series. He made 124 runs in three matches at an average of 62 and a strike rate of 187.87.

Cautious Pick – Charith Asalanka was the second-highest run-scorer for Sri Lanka in ODIs last year. However, he has struggled to score runs recently and can be avoided in fantasy teams for this game.

My XI – Virat Kohli (Captain), Kusal Mendis (Vice-Captain), Dasun Shanaka, Axar Patel, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Umran malik, Chamika Karunaratne, Kasun Rajitha, Rohit Sharma, Dhananjaya de Silva
