India vs Canada on June 15

With three wins to their name, India are on top of the Group A points table. Up next, the Rohit Sharma-led side will face Canada on June 15 at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill in Florida. The Saad Bin Zafar-led side suffered a seven-wicket defeat in the last match but a win against India can boost their chances to qualify for the Super 8 (given other calculations go their way) of the ongoing T20 World Cup but it won’t be an easy task. India are one of the most balanced sides in the tournament. Despite Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli not scoring consistently, India have managed to do well with the bat, which shows their depth. Rishabh Pant has been sensational while Suryakumar Yadav did well in the last match against the USA. The team can count on Hardik Pandya as well but Ravindra Jadeja needs to improve significantly, or else the team can consider bringing in Kuldeep Yadav.

Best economical pick – The burly opening batter from Canada Aaron Johnson smashed a well compiled fifty in the previous game against Pakistan. His big hitting skills could come to the fore again if he decides to take on the Indian bowlers.

Top captains & vice captains – India skipper Rohit Sharma would be gunning to get back to form ahead of the Super 8. He has looked in good touch but couldn’t capitalize in the last couple of matches. India need one of its top three to fire and Rohit would want to lead from the front. The conditions will be favorable and Rohit can get the job done. Indian wicket-keeper and batter Rishabh Pant has been at the top of his game with the bat ever since his return to the game. The 26-year-old has been the best and most consistent batter for India during this campaign.

Smart pick – Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been one of the best bowlers in the T20 World Cup. The 30-year-old failed to pick a wicket against USA but the quality he brings to the table is undeniable and will be a huge threat to the batters in conditions favorable to the bowlers.

Cautious Pick – Indian spinner Ravindra Jadeja has yet to fire with the bat or with the ball in hand. With the experience he has in his arsenal, Jadeja will hope to start firing and help India reach the knock-outs.

My XI – Rohit Sharma (Captain), Rishabh Pant (Vice-Captain), Aaron Johnson, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Nicholas Kirton, Dillon Heyliger, Arshdeep Singh, Suryakumar Yadav, Virat Kohli, Axar Patel
