Delhi vs Mumbai on April 27

In the 43rd match of the Indian Premier League 2024, Delhi Capitals will host five-time winners Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Both teams need a win to further boost their chances of qualifying for the playoffs this season. They sit next to each other in the points table, and a win in this game for either of these two sides can be of immense value. The hosts, Delhi Capitals, are enjoying a good run of form as they have won two of their last three games. The team management might have finally found the right players for the playing XI and are sticking to the winning combination more often than not. A win in this game can bump up the chances for qualification to the playoffs. Mumbai Indians are coming into this game on the back of a disappointing performance against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. They have won just three out of their eight matches so far in the Indian Premier League and are desperate for a win in this game to keep their hopes for qualification in their own hands.

Best economical pick – One of the most underrated players in the batting line-up for the Mumbai Indians has been Tilak Varma. He performs well under pressure and his knock in the last innings is a testament of that.

Top captains & vice captains – Delhi Capitals’ skipper Rishabh Pant could be the best batter in his side’s upcoming game against Mumbai Indians. With 342 runs in his last nine matches, Pant has been in good form and is currently third on the list of highest run-scorers in IPL 2024. He is coming off a match-winning knock of 88* runs against Gujarat Titans and will be keen on piling up the runs even further against the Mumbai-based franchise. This new attacking version of Rohit Sharma has been a delight to watch and he has been scoring the bulk of runs for the franchise this season.

Smart pick Jasprit Bumrah could be the best bowler in his side’s upcoming game against Delhi Capitals. With 13 wickets in his last eight games, Bumrah is currently the highest wicket-taker of the season. He has been in good touch and is consistently bowling those brilliant spells for his side.

Cautious Pick – The South African pacer Anrich Nortje has been leaking runs for his side and his economy is amongst the worst at the death this season.

My XI – Rishabh Pant (Captain), Rohit Sharma (Vice-Captain), Tilak Varma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Prithvi Shaw, Tristian Stubbs
