India vs New Zealand on November 4

India gave their veteran fast bowler Ashish Nehra a perfect send-off by winning the first T20 international at Delhi by 53 runs. New Zealand are 0-1 down in the three-match series and they will look to bounce back in the second T20I which is scheduled to be played on November 4. India were successful in breaking the T20 jinx against New Zealand with a comfortable 53-run victory in the last game. The hosts will now go into the second T20 international having won three of their last four matches. India are ahead by 1-0 and this will take a lot of pressure off them for this upcoming game. New Zealand on the other hand find themselves in a must-win situation and there will be tension in their dressing room. Martin Guptill is already out of form and now the Indian bowlers have devised a successful strategy to trap Colin Munro. Their pace bowling has been off track in the last two games which is another problem the Kiwis will have to deal with.

·         Best economical pickTom Bruce is renowned for his big hitting. He has been impressive for New Zealand in his short T20 career and this would be his chance to prove that he can be successful at the highest level. The right-hand batsman can prove to be New Zealand’s trump card.

·         Top captains & vice captains – Indian openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma, look set in the opening slot. Both batsmen hammered big runs in the first match. They added a mammoth 158 run stand for the opening wicket – the highest ever T20I partnership for India in the history of the game. Both Dhawan and Rohit scored 80 runs each in the match. There are no points for guessing that they are in a splendid touch. Rohit had earlier scored a ton in the final ODI of the series as well. A game prior to that, Shikhar Dhawan had compiled a well-timed fifty.

·         Smart pick – Virat Kohli has been having tremendous time with the bat in the recent past. The dynamic batsman arrived in to the T20 series riding on a fine ton in the Kanpur ODI. He continued his good run with the bat and hit three maximums enroot his unbeaten 25 in the first T20I. He will be itching to get more runs under his belt.

·         Cautious Pick – Martin Guptill is already out of form and now the Indian bowlers have devised a successful strategy to trap him. Martin Guptill is one of the most feared batsmen in the white ball cricket but the Indian bowlers were successful in keeping him quiet throughout the series. He got a decent start in the first ODI, apart from that he failed in the remaining series.

My XI – Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shikhar Dhawan (Vice-Captain), Virat Kohli, Tom Bruce, Ish Sodhi, B Kumar, Y Chahal, Mitchell Santner, Tom Latham, Jasprit Bumrah, Ross Taylor
