CricBattle Daily Fantasy Cricket League Tips

Hyderabad vs Kolkata on April 11

The 2021 edition of the Indian T20 League has started with a bang and in the third game of the competition, Hyderabad will take on Kolkata. Hyderabad finished 3rd in the points table last season, but lacked the cutting edge needed to get their hands on the trophy. Hence, in this season, it will be all about avoiding the mistakes they committed in the last season. For Kolkata, it will be about a revival. They are one of the most successful teams of this tournament, but have struggled in the last few years. David Warner and Kane Williamson are among the key players for the Hyderabad side. The team though is known for their excellent bowling attack comprising Bhuvneshwar, Rashid Khan, T Natarajan among others. Kolkata didn’t play their best cricket last year and their skipper Eoin Morgan will be looking forward to take the team to the title this time around.

Best economical pick Nitish Rana had a decent outing in IPL 2020 where he scored 352 runs in 14 games with the help of three fifties. Rana has the ability to play both pace and spin with ease and also has the ability to play the big shots at any stage of the game. He is likely to bat at number three for KKR and could play a key role in deciding the outcome of the game.

Top captains & vice captains – No captain in the IPL has delivered with the bat as consistently as David Warner. The southpaw will be integral to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s fortunes in IPL 2021 too. Last year, he was the highest run-scorer for Sunrisers Hyderabad, scoring 548 runs in 16 games. Under his captaincy, SRH made it to the playoffs last year and he will be keen to guide his team to another IPL title this year. Warner will be looking to start IPL 2021 on a strong note with the bat. Shubman Gill will be garnering a lot of attention this year after facing criticism in the last IPL for his poor strike-rate. He had his most prolific IPL season so far last year when he scored 440 runs in 14 games. It was the first time Gill managed to score more than 300 runs in an IPL. He, however, faced criticism for his strike-rate of 117.96. Gill’s failure to provide quick starts at the top was one of the reasons behind KKR’s struggle last year. The youngster would be eyeing a good start to the season to set the tone.

Smart pick – Sunrisers Hyderabad’s consistent run in the IPL has been built on performances by their star players like David Warner and Rashid Khan. The Afghanistan spinner is one of the best T20 players in the world and has been a top performer in the IPL. In his 62 IPL matches, he has picked up 75 wickets. His economy has been 6.24. On top of that, he can also score some handy runs down the order. His IPL strike rate is 149.46.

Cautious Pick – Dinesh Karthik had a forgettable IPL 2020 season in the United Arab Emirates. The wicketkeeper-batsman played all 14 league games for the Knight Riders, but managed to score just 169 runs at a disappointing average of 14.08. Karthik recorded only one half-century in the entire 2020 season.

My XI – David Warner (Captain), Shubman Gill (Vice-Captain), Nitish Rana, Rashid Khan, Varun Chakravarthy, T Natarajan, Jason Holder, Wridhiman Saha, Eoin Morgan, Kane Williamson, Vijay Shankar
