Ind-Eng 1st Test Preview by Aman Parikh,739599 days ago

With Literally 36 hours to go before the 1st test kicks off, we bring you the preview of the match

India will definitely fancy themselves to be the ones smiling at the end of the series primarily due to the talent they possess in the batting department, and that the England team is going through a rough phase especially with most of the squad members being players who haven't even played 15 tests yet.
That beng said, the conditions do favor England of course. That could be a blessing in disguise for the Indian bowlers who have always struggled to pick wickets, but well in these helpful conditions they might just do what's not expencted and blow the English away...

Whatever happens, it's going to be a very interesting series and may the best win :)

England Probable 11: Cook (c) , Robson, Ballance, Bell, Root, Moeen, Prior (wk), Broad, Plunkett, Jordan, Anderson

There might be a little debate on Jordan or Ben Stokes, but Jordan has done quite well in the limited opportunities he has been given. Ben Stokes might come in for Moeen Ali but after seeing the 2nd test against Sri Lanka, that has been ruled out for sure. Stokes might just have to wait as the 12th man, for a while maybe!!

India Probable 11: Dhawan, Vijay, Pujara, Kohli, Rohit, Rahane, Dhoni (c) (wk), Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar, Shami, Ishant

There has been a lot of talk about India playing Binny as the all-rounder and stuff, but that is simply wrong. 2 reasons for that - Binny has done well in the practice games but well that was against 2nd string domestic teams, and Dhoni has already stated the importance of a strong number 6 in the test series against West Indies, and he himself coming in at number 6 could be one of the worst decisions he may ever make. That being said, it's time for India's new middle order to shine and make a name for themselves - Puj, VK, Ro and Jinks... it's time for them to step up, step in the boots of the 4 great men who have now retired and bring some glory to India and all fans who continuously back them all the way through.

The post is open for discussion... :)
