| What really has India achieved from IPL-7 till now by Aman Parikh,739599 days ago |

IPL is mainly played to give a chance to fringe players to express themelves on the biggest stage of their career and to earn some quick bucks (for the owners
)
But what have the Indians really achieved out of this IPL till now??
Looking at the batting stats - http://stats.espncricinfo.com/indian-premier-league-2014/engine/records/batting/most_runs_career.html?id=8827;type=tournament
And the bowling stats - http://stats.espncricinfo.com/indian-premier-league-2014/engine/records/bowling/most_wickets_career.html?id=8827;type=tournament
It is quite clear, the batting portion is dominated by all International stars whereas young Indians are made to be at the receiving end and due to the limit of only playing 4 foreign players teams are forced to pick Indian bowlers. Is this really something that was wanted to be unearthed from the IPL?
Looking at teams
CSK - Top 2 foreign batsmen do the bulk of the scoring. Raina gets a hit here and there and Faf finishes off whatever's left. Where are any young talented batsmen getting a hit? For bowling yes they do have Ishwar Pandey and Mohit Sharma who are getting a decent run and performing very well.
KXIP - Though they are giving the Indians a chance to play at the top of the order, its mainly Miller and Maxwell who have scored the bulk of the runs. Similar strategies to CSK, have packed the middle order with 3 international batsmen whereas the bowling has been handled by Indian pacers and Akshar.
SRH - The captain and commentators have themselves said, get the top 3 and you win. Does that mean the others who follow the Big 3 are worth nothing? Is that the value of Indian batsmen in this team ? No doubt they have a really strong top 3 and to win games they will have to fire, but what's the point in fielding underpar players whom even the captain nor the fans trust?
I would really like to commend RCB, KKR and specially RR. Regardless of whether they are winning or losing, they have managed their troops really well and given a chance to real talent. Abhishek Nayar, Rajat Bhatia, Dhawal Kulkarni, Varun Aaron, Yuzvendra Chahal, Manish Pandey, Piyush Chawla, Parthiv Patel, Surya Yadav, Stuart Binny, Sanju Samson. A few players who have been given a chance and have thrived under pressure and performed really well.
Why on earth can't BCCI force a few changes and transfer a few young Indians to weaker teams. Players like Saurabh Tiwary, Kedar Jadhav, Rahul Sharma, Mandeep Singh, Manan Vohra, Aparajith, and many more would be in the 1st choice playing 11 for teams like MI, SRH, but they are constantly being benched as they are in teams with very strong internatinal batsmen. What's the outcome? They don't even get the match practice they should.
BCCI, Gavaskar, or whoever it is .. something to look into maybe from next season? ![]()
