My views on what i feel are the team's strength, weaknesses, and how long can they run into the tournament.

Strengths: The name and their fan base is the biggest in the world, or maybe it was till last season. For the 1st time MI will take the field with Sachin as simply a mentor, and not a player. How will that affect their chances is yet to be seen. They have bought some massive players in the auctions in Mike Hussey, Zak and Corey Anderson, but will that be enough to take last year's champs to yet another trophy? The captaincy seems to be in safe hands as Rohit thrives under pressure nowdays and is maturing rapidly. They have also retained Slinger and Bhajji, which makes a potent bowling attack.
Weakness: They let go of Mitch, and with the form he is carrying that might be the move to cost them a game against KXIP (the team he is in). MI's batting looks really fragile other than Rohit and Mike, which means the all-rounders must step up big time. Corey and Pollard are both injured. Pollard might be back by the start but Corey surely won't and that's another ig blow to a side that relied heavily on that player. Their bowling looks really good, but batting is equally poor and that might just cost them the season. They don't look as threatnign as they did last season having lost Sachin and DK.
On top of that Malinga will leave them mid way due to national duties which will further weaken the team.
My starting 11:
Hussey
Ben Dunk (As Corey is injured)
Tare (wk)
Rohit Sharma (c)
Ambati Rayudu
Kieron Pollard
Harbhajan Singh
Zaheer Khan
Lasith Malinga
Pragyn Ojha
Bumrah
IPL Predicted finish: Might end up in bottom 2 ![]()
