India vs Australia on October 13

After a spectacular ODI series, India outplayed the Aussies in the first T20I and got a mouth shutting reply from their counterparts in Guwahati. Australia were rampant across all departments in the second T20I and it had been a fairly long time since they put up a performance similar to this. An exciting finale at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium awaits as Friday will be the last assignment for the Kangaroos on this tour. David Warner, who took up the captaincy duties from Steve Smith, has done a terrific job thus far and it’ll be a huge boost if his side wins this encounter. India on the other side, wouldn’t be too flattered or worried with the fact that they were outplayed on the previous occasion. They back their strengths and on many occasions previously, the Indians made a terrific comeback after losing a game in such a fashion.

·         Best economical pickJason Behrendorff had the time of his life during his spell with the new ball. Such immaculate was his precision that the captain let him finish off his quota of four overs in a row. He bowled as many as 17 dot balls in his quota of four overs. He gave away only 21 runs and scalped four precious wickets.

·         Top captains & vice captains – Moises Henriques hit an unbeaten fifty in the game to steer the Aussies home. He targeted the Indian spinners to perfection to anchor the run chase. He remained unbeaten on 62 that came off just 46 deliveries with 4 fours and as many sixes. Virat Kohli was scalped by the visitors for his maiden duck on Tuesday and he must have countered a plan ahead of an all-important game. It would be interesting to see his approach early on in his innings and if he gets settled then there should not be any worries for India.

·         Smart pick – Jasprit Bumrah has been a class apart in the limited overs format since his debut. He has owned the death bowling overs with his ability to bowl searing Yorkers. He has missed his mark very rarely so far and Kohli would love to see him doing that one more time perfectly.

·         Cautious Pick – On a day when the Australian bowlers made merry, Andrew Tye was the only exception who leaked runs at an economy of over 6 in the innings. He gave away 30 runs in his complete quota of 4 overs.

My XI – Moises Henriques (Captain), Virat Kohli (Vice-Captain), Jason Bhrendorff, Jasprit Bumrah, Aaron Finch, Travis Head, Yuzvendra Chahal, Tim Paine, David Warner, Kedar Jadhav, Shikhar Dhawan
