England vs South Africa on June 25

The narrow victory in second match of this series noticed South Africa level the three-match collection at 1-1 because it bounced again from a nine-wicket defeat by England on Wednesday to set-up a winner-takes-all clash in Cardiff on Sunday. England have been on course for an unbeatable 2-0 lead whereas Roy and Johnny Bairstow shared a second-wicket stand of 110. However when Roy was given out obstructing the field, the primary time this had happened in a T20 worldwide, the innings fell away. England will wonder how they managed to lose a recreation that for thus lengthy they appeared sure to win. On a small floor and with a staff of big-hitting batsmen all the best way all the way down to David Willey at 10, the house aspect will have been assured of chasing down South Africa’s whole. But they collapsed dramatically and lost the match by just 3 runs.

·         Best economical pick – The Proteas seemed to lose some steam after that as debutant Tom Curran (3/33) impressed with his repertoire of deliveries. But Farhaan Behardien’s 32 off 21, in the end saw South Africa finish with 174/8 in their 20 overs.

·         Top captains & vice captains – The Man in form Jonny Bairstow continued his innings from where he had left in the previous game. Bairstow missed his fifty by just 3 runs as his departure in the 14th over saw the hosts lose their second wicket. He scored 47 off 37 balls with 8 fours and a six. AB de Villiers entertained with 3 towering sixes and 4 fours in his whirlwind knock of 20-ball 46. First he plundered Plunkett for 21 runs then raced on to 46 from just 19 balls as he got down on one knee to David Willey and lifted him over his shoulder for six down towards the River Tone but then he departed next ball, skewing a slog to cover.

·         Smart pick – The England opener Jason Roy looked a tad better on the day with free flowing boundary shots. He notched up a very desperately needed fifty. Roy appeared to be leading Morgan’s men to a victory in the second T20 before he was given out for obstructing the field in the 16th over, ending his blistering innings of 67.

·         Cautious Pick – 8 runs was needed off the last two balls with Liam Dawson on strike. Dawson hit one to long off that went for a four. With 4 needed off the final delivery, Dawson ended up missing it totally to hand South Africa a thrilling three run win. He went for 38 runs with his bowling too.

My XI – Johnny Bairstow (Captain), AB de Villiers (Vice-Captain), Jason Roy, Farhaan Behardien, Chris Morris, Dane Paterson, Liam Plunkett, Tom Curran, JJ Smuts, David Miller, Sam Billings
