Bangladesh vs England on October 28

The final game of England's tour of Bangladesh begins in Dhaka on Friday (28 October), with the tourists having already won the one-day international series 2-1. England have won a thrilling first Test match against Bangladesh by 22 runs after a nail-biting finish on the fifth and final day in Chittagong. All-rounder Ben Stokes took the final two wickets in the first 25 minutes of play to secure the man of the match award in what was an engrossing contest from first ball until last. The tourists began the final day of the game knowing they needed to take two more wickets to avoid their maiden defeat against Bangladesh in Test cricket. The hosts, on the other hand, needed 33 runs to secure their place in history. Despite the sharp turn on offer throughout the match, Alastair Cook opened the bowling with his two most-senior fast bowlers, Stuart Broad and Ben Stokes. And after an initially composed start to the modest run chase, Stokes proved to be the difference between the two teams, holding his nerve under pressure to win the game.

·         Best economical pick and Top captains & vice captains – In a match like the first test, there should really be three people on the podium. Gold would go to Ben Stokes, of course; silver to Sabbir Rahman, who made a magnificent game of it on his Test debut, and bronze to Jonny Bairstow, who scored 47 and 52 and took some superb catches behind the stumps in the heat. He and Stokes (103) each made more runs than England’s entire top four (96). The old line about having an allrounder being like having an extra man may need to be revised.

·       Smart pick – Except Ben Stokes England had another all-round star, and it is time that somebody gave Moeen Ali a bit more credit for the huge contribution he makes in every form of cricket. Ali scored a useful fifty and took some crucial wickets in the first test.

·         Cautions Pick – Another issue is skipper Alastair Cook's opening partner due to Alex Hales withdrawing from the tour. Ben Duckett who opened with Cook in first test failed to impress so team management also toying with the idea of opening with Hameed and slotting Duckett in the middle order.

My XI – Ben Stokes (Captain), Sabir Rahman (Vice-Captain), Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid, Imrul Kayes, Joe Root, Gareth Batty, Mehedi Hasan, Taijul Islam, Chris Woakes
