Sri Lanka v Australia on August 31

·         Hosts Sri Lanka come into match on the back of a disappointing two-wicket loss in the previous encounter on 28 August. Australia will look to seal the One-Day International series when they take on Sri Lanka in the fourth game in Dambulla on Wednesday (August 31). The visitors lead the five-match series 2-1 and another win will be a huge morale boost after a disastrous Test series, where they were whitewashed 3-0. Unlike the Test series, the ODIs have been hard-fought and competitive, with both teams landing punches alternately. The series was level after the first two games in Colombo before Australia went ahead with a narrow, thrilling win in the first of the two games in Dambulla. The fourth ODI will see forced changes in both squads for different reasons. While it will be Sri Lanka’s first match in the post Tillakaratne Dilshan era, Australia too suffered a blow with Shaun Marsh flying back home with a broken finger.

·         Best economical pick – The Lankans put up only 226 runs on the board in the third odi. That they got there was due to the brilliance of Dinesh Chandimal, who hit 102, his fourth ODI ton, while the legendary T M Dilshan scored 42 in what was his final 50-over game for his country..

·         Top captains & vice captains – Australia roared back to win the third game, thereby leading the five-match series 2-1. George Bailey with the bat and Adam Zampa with the ball played key roles in their victory with the former taking 3 for 38 off his 10 overs, while the latter helped Australia chase 226 on a tricky pitch, scoring 70 off 99 balls.

·         Smart pick – The Sri Lankan bowlers tried their best to take Sri Lanka to a win in previous match, but 226 was too low a score to defend. Amila Aponso again showed why he is considered to be the next big thing to emerge from Sri Lanka, bowling with guile and control.

·        Cautions Pick – The Australian captain David Warner again failed to score some runs in the third ODI. He has scored just 19 runs in 3 matches so far in this ODI series. His batting against spin is looking horrible in this series. So be careful before picking Warner in your fantasy team.

·        My XI – George Bailey (Captain), Adam Zampa (Vice-Captain), Amila Aponso, D Chandimal, Mitchell Starc, Kusal Mendis, Aaron Finch, James Faulkner, Matthew Wade, Angelo Mathews, Kusal Perera
