The Kieron Pollard-led Barbados Tridents have had an average tournament so far, coming into this game on the back of a 36 runs loss to Jamaica Tallawahs on 20 July. The Barbados outfit have played seven games and are now in the third place on the points table with seven points, winning three games and losing three with one match rained off. What will be of concern to the team management is that Barbados have no AB de Villiers in their squad and they are heavily reliant on Shoaib Malik and Kieron Pollard. If the duo do not fire then they tend to find themselves in trouble with the rest of the team not contributing. For a team that has players like Michael Hussey, Shane Watson, David Miller, Darren Sammy and Morne Morkel in their ranks, the St Lucia Zouks have underperformed in the 2016 CPL. The Zouks are currently stuck at the fifth position of the table with two win from their five games. Considering they have only played five games so far, they will have a chance to move up the league table.

·         Best economical pick – The retired Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has been failed with bat in this season but he has been phenomenal with ball. He is the leading wicket taker of St Lucia Zouks in this season with 7 wickets from 5 matches.

·         Top captains & vice captains – Nicholas Pooran has been in good form so far, scoring 203 at an average of 40.60 with a strike rate of 211.5. A lot rides on his shoulders, with the Tridents requiring the wicket keeper to score every time he goes to the crease. It was Zouks' skipper Darren Sammy, who lit up the night with a blistering knock of 59 runs from just 35 balls in the previous match. The big West Indian clobbered five sixes and two fours in that innings. He was instrumental in powering his side to a total of 174 runs at the end of 20 overs.

·       Smart pick – The Pakistani All-rounder Shoaib Malik has been instrumental in the success of Barbados Tridents. He has scored 170 runs in 6 innings with at an average of 28.33. He can round his arm if captain needed him.

·         Cautions Pick – The opener and wicket keeper of St Lucia Zouks Andre Fletcher has been failing to score constantly in this tournament. He is a very inconsistent batsman so be careful before picking him.
