CricBattle Daily Fantasy Football Leagues Tips:

ITA-ESP    ENG-ICE  on June 27

Spain have given themselves the hardest possible route to an unprecedented third straight Euro win after they lost to Croatia in their final group game to finish second. Spain are the clear favorites on paper but they have struggled against sides that use a 3-5-2 formation and press high - notably against Chile and Holland in the 2014 World Cup. Italy have been poor since making the headlines for their 2-0 win over Belgium in the opening group game but you can never write them off. There is also a feeling that they are better suited to playing against sides that like to dominate possession, which Spain surely will.

England's failure to beat Slovakia in their final group game has put them on the same side of the draw as Germany, Italy, Spain and France. They will now face another side that will set up to defend all of their possession and they must improve their finishing if they are to kill this game off and stop Iceland from growing in belief. Iceland weren't expected to qualify from their group in their first-ever major tournament but now they are in the round of 16 and have seen the blueprint how to frustrate this England side already. It would be a remarkable achievement for them to overcome England, who have actually played quite well despite some of the reaction to their three matches thus far.

Best economical pick – Lazio’s mid-fielder Antonio Candreva has played well in first two matches and provided a crucial assist in that 2-0 win against Belgium. He was rested for the game against Ireland but will be re-called for the game against Spain. He is a nice pick available at salary 8.5

Top captains & vice captains – The Manchester City’s man Joe Hart was below average in England’s opening two games but was rock solid against Slovakians and kept a clean sheet. He is expected to do the same against Iceland unless their attack does something spectacular. The Juventus’ striker Alvaro Morata has been brilliant so far by scoring 3 goals already. He has been meeting passes from his teammates and succeeded in hitting back the net on regular basis.

Smart pick –  Tottenham Hotspur’s forward Harry Kane has been terrible in opening two matches and started from bench against Slovakia. But still England’s striker would fancy himself to score against this Iceland’s defense. He is a good grab for your fantasy team.

Be careful –   Iceland’s Goal Keeper Hannes Halldorsson has done well in the group stages but it wouldn’t be a wise decision to pick him as England would attack and it is likely to be raining goals.

My XI – Joe Hart (Captain & GK), Alvaro Morata (Vice-Captain), Gary Cahill, Danny Rose, Kyle Walker, Eric Dier, Cesc Fabregas, Antonio Candreva, Bamidele Alli, Graziano Pelle, Harry Kane.
