CricBattle Daily Fantasy Football Leagues Tips:
HUN-POR ICE-AUT ITA-IRL SWE-BEL on June 22
Portugal's inability to find the back of the net means they have to beat Hungary in order to qualify for the knockout phase of the competition. Hungary, meanwhile, are in a strong position in the group having taken four points from their opening two matches. They are almost certainly going to be in the knockout phase of the competition unless Portugal put them to the sword in this match, which while isn't completely impossible, it would be very surprising given how Portugal have struggled in attack. Portugal are unbeaten in 10 matches against Hungary and have won the last four in which they have kept a clean sheet in the last three. Fernando Santos' side should have enough to win and see them through here.
Sweden know they face an early exit from Euro 2016 unless they secure a win at Belgium's expense and hope Italy can overcome Republic of Ireland in the other group game. They have just one point to their name from the two games played so far, though face an uphill task against Belgium. The Red Devils picked up a crucial three points against Republic of Ireland at the weekend and know that if they can avoid defeat, they will progress in second on Wednesday. The last time these two teams met, Belgium picked up a 2-0 win back in 2014 and will hope for a repeat in the final game of Group E. Sweden need a much improved performance to hope to progress, but should be outmatched by Belgium in Nice.
Italy have already qualified from the group in first place and will make wholesale changes to the side that will face Ireland. There will be chances for some of the fringe players in the squad to stake a claim for future matches in the next phase of the tournament. Ireland have a decent recent record against Italy. They've only lost once in their last five meetings with the Italians and have kept a clean sheet in two of their last three against Wednesday's opponents. Italy have their tails up at the moment and even with a weakened team Ireland may have left it too late to get the result they need to get out the group stages for the first time in their history.
Austria were tipped as dark horses coming into the tournament but they have been abysmal and only have one point from their opening two matches. They have to beat Iceland here to have any chance of progressing to the knockout phase of the competition. Iceland have drawn both of their matches 1-1 and a win here would secure a sensational passage to the next stage of the competition. They haven't managed to beat Austria in any of their four encounters and they may be denied a cruel piece of history against this talented, but under performing Austrian side.
Best economical pick – The West Ham’s centre back Angelo Ogbonna would be starting against Republic of Ireland as Chiellini is to be rested. Italy is likely to keep clean sheet again and he’s fair grab available at salary 7.5
Top captains & vice captains – Cristiano Ronaldo who missed a penalty in the 0-0 draw with Austria on Saturday has now had 20 shots without finding the back of the net. But he is expected to score against Hungarian defense and could make a big impact for your fantasy team. The Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku hasn’t seen much of the ball in the opening game against Italy but Everton’s man scored twice against Ireland helping Belgium clinch a comfortable victory.
Smart pick – The Portuguese Goal Keeper Rui Patricio had two good games against Iceland and Austria where he had a clean sheet in the later. Portugal are not likely to concede any goals against Hungary and he would be a nice pick.
Be careful – The Southampton’s striker Shane Long has miserably failed to make an impact in two games for Ireland and he isn’t a good choice for your fantasy team.
My XI – Cristiano Ronaldo (Captain), Romelu Lukaku (Vice-Captain), Leonardo Bonucci, Ricardo Carvalho, Angelo Ogbonna, Eden Hazard, Joao Moutinho, Kim Kallstrom, Rui Patricio (GK), Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Birkir Mar Saevarsson.
