Zimbabwe vs India on June 20
We encountered a thrilling T20 match last Saturday, it was poised for another MSD finish. But some smart final over bowling by N Madziva denied Indian captain the chance to hit the winning runs. This was the boost needed by the Zimbabwe team after a disappointing ODI outing. Now the series is wide open to be won by either of the two teams. Indian may have taken Zimbabwe lightly after a convincing ODI series win which cost them the match. We saw a few changes in the playing XI for India, some of them clicked and some didn’t. Now its upto the Indian captain to pick the right combination and get back to winning ways. But one thing is for sure; We are in for an exciting match.
Best economical pick – Chamu Chibhabha has been performing consistently from the ODI matches against India. He has been productive both with the bat and the bowl. With his opening batting he can provide the base for a good total.
Top captains & vice captains – The talented KL Rahul has performed impressively well in the limited opportunities that he has been given for Team India. He scored a duck in his first T20 but that should not question his ability. Ambati Rayudu got a start but perished after Chibhabha bowled him. His batting has been reliable in the ODIs with some good knock and his T20 experience is backed by some good knocks in IPL.
Smart pick – Axar Patel displayed his talent both with bat and ball in the last match. He almost brought the win for India with his hard hitting shots. His allround abilities can give you points from both batting and bowling fields.
Cautions Pick – Jaydev Unadkat who selected surprisingly in team India for this tour. He didn’t perform in the IPL still got a chance. He bowled poorly and leaked runs with his ordinary bowling so pick him in your team at your own risk.
My XI – KL Rahul (Captain), Ambati Rayudu (Vice-Captain), Mandeep Singh, T Muzarabani, , Y Chahal, J Bumrah, E Chigumbura, MS Dhoni, Chamu Chibhabha, A Patel, M Waller.
