CricBattle Daily Fantasy Football Leagues Tips:
BEL-IRL ICE-HUN POR-AUT on June 18
Belgium are under immense pressure to perform after they slipped to a shock 2-0 defeat against Italy. They were touted as pre-tournament favorites by some but they are already on the back foot and cannot afford any more slip ups. Ireland were unfortunate not to claim all three points from their opener against Sweden after taking the lead. Ireland haven't beaten Belgium in any of their last six encounters and have to trace back to 1966 to find the last time they beat Belgium. Belgium are favorites but haven't managed to fulfil their potential at all under Marc Wilmots reign and Ireland should sense a real opportunity to cause a major upset here.
Iceland held Portugal to an impressive 1-1 draw on Tuesday night and will take that confidence into the meeting with Group F leaders Hungary. They were on the back foot for large parts of the encounter, but can soak up pressure and hit their opponents on the break, so Hungary need to keep their wits about them. Hungary, meanwhile, shocked the watching world with a commendable 2-0 win over Austria earlier in the week. It was their first win in four and they know a positive result will likely guarantee them a place in the next round of the competition. Iceland should put in a spirited performance once more, but Hungary could come away with an important win in Saturday's evening kick off.
Austria were ranked outsiders coming into Euro 2016 but were beaten 2-0 by Hungary in their first group game and are now on the back foot. They will need an immediate response here but would have preferred not to have Portugal - their hardest game on paper - up next. Portugal also suffered disappointment in the first game after drawing 1-1 with minnows Iceland. Cristiano Ronaldo was particularly disappointing and will need to make a statement in their toughest group game to keep Portugal on route to topping the group. Three of the last four encounters have ended in a 1-1 draw. The same outcome could also be on the cards here, although Portugal have the firepower and creativity to outscore their opponents here.
Best economical pick – Hungary came up with surprise upsetting Austria in their first group match and kept clean sheet too. Tamas Kadar played well and is expected to repeat his performance against Iceland too. He is available cheaply at salary 7 and will be a good grab.
Top captains & vice captains – Cristiano Ronaldo is set to overtake Luís Figo as Portugal's most-capped player when he makes his 128th appearance in this match against Austria. The Real Madrid striker had an off day against Iceland who wasn’t lucky enough to convert those two big chances to goals. However he is more likely to have a big impact in this crucial game. Even though after having a bad start to this campaign against Italy Eden Hazard who will be playing as the number 10 behind the main striker Lukaku is expected to create more chances against this Irish defense.
Smart pick – The Manchester City Mid-fielder Kevin De Bruyne suffered a minor knock but is expected to be fit. With his pace on the wing he can be so dangerous with his free kicks and set pieces. He will be a great pick for your fantasy team.
Be careful – The Stoke City man Marko Arnautovic wasn’t effective at all against Hungary and he wouldn’t be a nice choice for your fantasy team.
My XI – Cristiano Ronaldo(Captain), Eden Hazard (Vice-Captain), Tamas Kadar, Raphael Guerreiro, Ricardo Carvalho, Kevin De Bruyne, Zoltan Stieber, Nani, Rui Patricio(GK), Jeff Hendrick, Romelu Lukaku.
