CricBattle Daily Fantasy Football Leagues Tips:
ESP vs CZE IRL vs SWE BEL vs ITA on June 13
Spain do not quite have the allure of four years ago – that spell was broken when they were stunningly eliminated from the World Cup at the first hurdle – but champions are rarely more dangerous than when the odds are against them. Whereas, The Czechs have an impressive track record at European Championships, finishing as runners-up in 1996 and losing to eventual winners Greece in the 2004 semi-finals when a wonderfully talented side should probably have won the tournament.
Ireland come into Euro 2016 desperate for a good showing, having endured their worst-ever tournament results in the same championship four years ago as they lost all three games. The Swedes fared little better as they threw away the lead twice in losing their first two games, to Ukraine and England, packing their bags shortly after the Irish. Sweden come into the match in better form: Zlatan Ibrahimovic and co looked in fine form as they thumped Wales 3-0 in their final warm-up match.
Once famed for their "catenaccio", a tactical system with an emphasis on a strong defensive unit, Italy come to the tournament with arguably their weakest team for years and conceding goals particularly against top teams. They face a Belgium side with a talented squad tipped by some to go one better than the golden generation that finished as tournament runners up in 1980.
Best economical pick – Juanfran who will be playing as right back after Dani Carvajal got withdrawn from the squad has provided decent balls into the 6 yard box and helped their strikers score in crucial points. He will a great pick as Spain are expected to keep a clean sheet and is available at 8.5.
Top captains & vice captains – Romelu Lukaku started off his Premier League season on high but lost his track in the backend of the season but was still good enough to be in top 4 goal scorers with 18 goals. He is expected to hit the net with support from his teammates. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been a one man army for Paris Saint Germain helping them snatch their 6th League 1 title. He is top goal scorer(38 goals) in the French ligue 1 separated by a 17 goal margin from the 2nd rank player. He has this knack of scoring goals in major tournament and playing against this Ireland’s defense would help.
Smart pick – The Juventus’ striker Alvaro Morata hasn’t made a huge impact for Juventus this season but playing for Spain and against Czech will make huge difference to his game and the former Real Madrid man would surely be the player to watch out.
Be careful – As Belgium is looking great with some bunch of great talent and abilities to score goals it wouldn’t be a wise decision to pick Gianluigi Buffon as this would end up you having negative points as Italy start conceding goals.
My XI – Romelu Lukaku (Captain), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Vice-Captain), Jordi Alba, Juanfran, Gerard Pique, Radja Nainggolan, Eden Hazard, Thiago Motta, Iker Casillas (GK), Alvaro Morata,Ciaran Clark.
