IPL Fantasy League 2016 Tips: RPS vs GL

·         After a comprehensive win over defending champions Mumbai Indians in the tournament-opener, Pune suffered four losses on the trot before a win over Hyderabad via Duckworth-Lewis method last Tuesday gave them a new lease of life and the Debutantes will look to continue the positive run. However, standing in their way are the Lions, who have been in red-hot form this season. With five wins in six matches, they are the table-toppers, who have crushed all opponents apart from the sunrisers. In fact, Pune too were in their firing line early in the tournament when the Lions had beaten them by seven wickets at Rajkot and the Supergiants will be itching to extract revenge tomorrow.

·         Best economical pickPravin Tambe is a cricketer who has defied his age to play top level cricket. He had not even played a top-level game for a first-class side when he was picked from obscurity at the age of 41, by Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2013. He has taken 5 wickets in this season with a healthy economy and strike rate. His salary is just 8.5 and he can earn you a lot of points.

·        Top captains & vice captains – The opening batsman of RPS Ajinkya Rahane has been a superb touch in recent times. He has scored 2 half centuries in last 3 matches. He is the top run getter for RPS. The retired kiwi skipper Brendon McCullum is scoring runs with a decent strike in the top of order for Gujarat Lions. He is scoring almost a strike rate of 200 in this season. Played 2 back to back destructive knocks in last 2 matches.

·         Smart pick – The young leg spinner of Rising Pune Supergiants Murugan Ashwin is bowling superbly in this tournament. He has taken 7 wickets in the 6 IPL matches he played till now. Murugan Ashwin will be a smart pick.

·        Be careful – The opening batsman Dwayne Smith of Gujarat Lions is an in and out customer in this format. He can score heavily on his day and can get out cheaply every day. Although he played a good innings in last match but you can’t really trust on him.

·         My XI – Ajinkya Rahane (Captain), B McCullum (Vice-Captain), Pravin Tambe, Murugan Ashwin, Dhawal Kulkarni, Usman Khajwa, MS Dhoni, DJ Bravo, Rajat Bhatia, Thisara Perera, Ashoke Dinda
