Bangalore vs Hyderabad on October 6

Royal Challengers Bangalore is set to lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match No.52 of the 2021 Indian Premier League on Wednesday, October 6 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. The Challengers, led by Virat Kohli, are already through to the playoffs with 16 points and a net run rate of -0.157. If they win their last two games in the round robin stage, they also have the chance of making it through to the Qualifier 1 by finishing in the top two. They are on a three-match winning streak in the tournament, having beaten Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings in a row. SRH, on the other hand, have kept on gasping for breath in the T20 league. In their previous game, Kolkata Knight Riders beat them by six wickets in Dubai. Even if they win their last two games, they will finish as the cellar dwellers. In their previous meeting, RCB beat the Sunrisers by six runs.

Best economical pick Harshal Patel has been the standout bowler for the Challengers in the ongoing edition of the T20 league in the UAE. The fast bowler has picked up 26 wickets from 12 games at economy of 8.41. The economy is on the higher side as he is mostly trusted to bowl at the death. Although he failed to get a wicket in the previous game, he remains a brute force with the ball in hand.

Top captains & vice captains – Glenn Maxwell has proven to be a match-winner for the RCB side this season. The Aussie has scored 3 half-centuries in his last 3 IPL innings, and the RCB side has ended up on the winning side every single time. West Indian all-rounder Jason Holder has been one of the bright spots for the team in an otherwise dismal season for SRH. With Bhuvneshwar Kumar also not firing, Holder has taken wickets and has also been handy with the bat. In the last match too, he picked up two wickets and kept SRH in the hunt till the last over.

Smart pick – Devdutt Padikal has been excellent for the Challengers in the ongoing edition of the IPL. In 11 matches, the left-hander has notched 349 runs at an average of 34.90 and a strike rate of 135.79. Having scored one fifty and one century, the southpaw hasn’t flattered to deceive. Padikkal scored 40 in the previous game against PBKS and looked in pretty good rhythm.

Cautious Pick – Dan Christian’s form in the IPL 2021 has been quite horrendous. He has played six matches and scored four runs. With the ball, he averages 93, having picked up one wicket. These numbers don’t justify the caliber which he has, but no one can say that picking him in the fantasy team right now will be a wise decision.

My XI – Glenn Maxwell (Captain), Jason Holder (Vice-Captain), Devdutt Padikal, Harshal Patel, Ab de Villiers, Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, Bhuvneswar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jason Roy, Srikar Bharat
