India vs New Zealand on November 7

India will look to overcome New Zealand in the third T20I at Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday to bag the series which is tied 1-1 at the moment. India won the first T20I by 53 runs but lost the second T20I by 40 runs. The third T20I is a series decider and India will look to continue their winning momentum in limited-overs cricket. New Zealand have been tough customer in this tour and came back strongly in the second T20I to level the series.

·         Best economical pickIsh Sodhi was arguably the most impressive bowler in the 2nd T20I for the New Zealand team. Sodhi bowled tight lines and kept the run flow in check in the middle overs. He bowled a beauty of a delivery to castle up Hardik Pandya at a crucial juncture of the game. He was very economical with the ball and returned with figures of 1/25 in his allocated 4 overs.

·         Top captains & vice captains – Although the previous game was a forgettable one, Virat Kohli will take positives from his brilliant innings, which included some stellar cricketing shots. These days, people are getting a feeling that Kohli is on a mission to do something impeccable and the fans would love it if his unknown source of motivation gets him going in the decider. Colin Munro was the star of the 2nd T20I. The dashing left hander, who has the second fastest fifty in T20Is to his name, scored a brilliant ton to propel the New Zealand side to a winning total. He smashed a 54-ball century – his second in T20Is. He ended up with an unbeaten 109 off just 58 deliveries with 7 fours and as many sixes.

·         Smart pick – Arguably the best Kiwi player on the tour, Trent Boult keeps getting better and better with every passing day. Defending a mammoth target in the Rajkot game, he removed both the openers in his first over and India never really was in the hunting post then. The left-arm seamer might not be the quickest bowler in the side but in terms of consistency, there are very few across the globe who are as good as him.

·         Cautious Pick – MS Dhoni has been under constant scrutiny for his failure to close matches. In the second T20I, he was seen struggling at the start of his innings. While Team India needed 10 to 12 runs per over to win the match, Dhoni failed to play his part with skipper Virat Kohli at the other end and that took the game away from them.

My XI – Virat Kohli (Captain), Colin Munro (Vice-Captain), Ish Sodhi, Trent Boult, Y Chahal, Mitchell Santner, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, Glenn Phillips, Martin Guptill, Colin de Grandhomme
