South Africa vs Sri Lanka on March 16

What a performance it has been by the Proteas. After suffering a setback in the Test series, South Africa bounced back strongly in the ODI series and has won four games on the trot. Sri Lanka who stunned the cricketing world when they became the first Asian country to beat South Africa at their home have been a shadow of the team that dominated the Test series. With the Cricket World Cup only a couple of months away, Sri Lanka will need to up the ante if they are to have any chance of moving forward in the tournament. South African bowlers were at the top of their game and took full advantage of a Sri Lankan batting line-up that tried to play without any restrictions. The bowlers had a field day and the same could happen on what will be a bouncy track at the Newlands in the South African capital.

Best economical pick – After his team was languishing at 131/9, Isuru Udana did something that was certainly unexpected out of a number nine batsman. Hitting a scintillating 57-ball 78, Udana was responsible for putting Sri Lanka in a defendable position and is a player in form right now.

Top captains & vice captains – Quinton de Kock has been an unbelievable performer in this series. He has scored 347 runs in 4 games at an average of 86.75. He hit one century and smashed three fifties. He’d be hoping to provide South Africa with another good start in the final ODI. He will be looking at getting to the triple digits in the upcoming match as well.

While Quinton de Kock has turned it around for South Africa with the bat, Faf du Plessis has been playing the perfect role of a supporting cast. With decent knocks in almost all the matches, du Plessis consistency makes him a really good pick for your Cricbattle Fantasy team.

Smart pick – Picking up three wickets in his eight-over spell, Anrich Nortje’s performance was mature and spoke volumes about the development he has had in his game. The pacer was spot on and looked to trouble the Sri Lankan batting attack every time he came to bowl. Nortje is definitely a smart pick for the fourth ODI and could get a lot of points for your Cricbattle fantasy team.

Cautions Pick – Kusal Mendis is one of the most talented players in the Sri Lankan team. However, he hasn’t been able to live up to his potential in this series thus far. In four games, he scored 146 runs at an average of 36.50.

My XI – Quinton de Kock (Captain), Faf du Plessis (Vice-Captain), Isuru Udana, Anrich Nortje, Tabraiz Shamsi, Kushal Perera, Oshade Fernadoo, Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram, Jean-Paul Duminy, Thisara Perera
