South Africa vs Pakistan on January 19

After a clearly one-sided three match Test series, South Africa and Pakistan renew their rivalry as they face off in the first ODI at Port Elizabeth on Saturday, January 19. South Africa were ruthless in the Test series as they completed a 3-0 whitewash against Pakistan. Although it won’t be the same in the limited over series, South Africa and Pakistan will look to kick off their run up to the Cricket World Cup with a win. ODI matches from now will be very important for the teams as they will look to try out different combinations to get the best out of their players. White ball cricket has been Pakistan's stronger suit over the last couple of years with the emergence of talent such as Fakhar Zaman and Shadab Khan. Senior players like Mohammed Hafeez, Shoaib Malik and Sarfraz Ahmed hold key to the Pakistan fortunes.

Best economical pick – Still a newcomer in the squad, Henrich Klaasen is slowly but steadily cementing his spot in the Proteas squad. Klaasen is not only known for is explosive style of batting but he also looks to score some clever runs and keep the scoreboard ticking. With the absence of Quinton De Kock, Klaasen has the perfect opportunity to shine for his team and stake his claim for the bus to the World Cup.

Top captains & vice captains – One of the few skippers who has improved his games after being handed the armband, Faf du Plessis has been a great player for South Africa in recent years. Not only is he a finisher when it comes to the death overs, but he looks to soak in a lot of pressure and play some smart cricket. Du Plessis is an asset for any team that he plays for. How good has Kagiso Rabada being off late! One of the young guns to come out of South Africa, he has the pace and the accuracy to trouble any batting attack in the world. With Dale Steyn being rested for the ODI series, Rabada has a good chance to shine as South Africa’s number one bowler.

Smart pick – An all-rounder is always one of the most important players you choose in your Fantasy Cricket team. Mohammad Hafeez is one such player who has been a great player for Pakistan with the bat and ball. Hafeez can turn a match around with his deliveries and can also chase down big scores in the death overs.

Cautions Pick – Mohammad Aamir have been very poor in ODIs off late. In 2018, Aamir played 10 matches and picked 3 wickets only with an average of over 100. Which is very poor according to his standards. He won’t get you fantasy points if he won’t take wickets regularly, so don’t take much risk by picking him in your fantasy team.

My XI – Faf du Plessis (Captain), Kagiso Rabada (Vice-Captain), Henrich Klassen, Mohammad Hafeez, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Imran Tahir, Sarfraz Ahmed, Reeza Hendricks, David Miller, Shadab Khan
