South Africa vs Pakistan on January 11

Despite being without suspended captain Faf du Plessis, South Africa will be pushing for a clean sweep when they play Pakistan in the third and final Test. Pakistan's batting has been inadequate against South Africa's fast bowling, although Shan Masood, Imam-ul-Haq, Asad Shafiq and Babar Azam have all played useful innings. The bowlers, too, were disappointing at Newlands, so it seems likely there will be changes. But the options for the tourists are limited. Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf could both come into consideration as all-rounders after Pakistan's four specialist bowlers were worn down during South Africa's first innings of 431 at Newlands.

Best economical pick – No one can deny that South Africa are a much better team when they have Dale Steyn leading the attack. One of the finest bowlers of the generation, Dale Steyn is still very much a feared bowler for the batsmen. With conditions favoring him, Steyn will be looking to create all sorts of problems for the Pakistani batsmen and can get you a lot of points.

Top captains & vice captains – Dean Elgar is known for his steely resolve and determination with the bat which enables him to accumulate tough runs on vicious wickets. He will want to adopt those very qualities into his captaincy. He's captained South Africa just once before, falling to a big defeat against England in 2017. He will want to make amends this time. In absence of du Plessis, his role with the bat at the top of the order becomes that much more crucial as well. Babar Azam and Shan Masood have been great with the bat, but it was only when Asad Shafiq too stepped up to the party that the visitors were able to post a respectable total. The experienced batsman has all the makings of a solid Test player but has fallen prey to inconsistency. If he can dig deep and produce a big score again, it will go a long way in Pakistan's quest to stave off a whitewash.

Smart pick – Babar Azam has had a decent start in this series so far. In the two matches he has played so far, he has scored two half centuries and is an in-form batsman. Although the pressure will be on him to deliver, Babar is a calm and composed batsman and will be relishing this opportunity. Picking Babar is a risk, but if he is to do well, it’s a risk that can get you a lot of points.

Cautions Pick – Fakhar Zaman could make way for Mohammad Rizwan in the middle order after scoring just 32 runs with an ordinary average of just 8 in two test matches. It will be a big risk if you pick Fakhar Zaman in your fantasy team.

My XI – Dean Elgar (Captain), Asad Shafiq (Vice-Captain), Dale Steyn, Kagiso Rabada, Duanne Olivier, Babar Azam, Quinton de Kock, Temba Bavuma, Mohammad Aamir, Vernon Philander, Shan Masood
