Rajasthan vs Punjab on September 27

Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab will go up against each other in the ninth game of IPL 2020. Both teams are coming off a win and will be high on confidence. Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings, whereas Kings XI Punjab defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last games, respectively. Both teams have great batsmen and the pitch conditions and the ground size will favor them as well. Thus, it promises to be a great contest. Having said that, on a flat wicket, the team with the better bowling line-up tends to win the game, so the bowlers will be as important as the batsmen. Both teams would want to make it two wins in a row and it should be a fierce battle in Sharjah on Sunday.

Best economical pickRahul Tewatia is an experienced domestic spinner and he made the ball do the talking in the previous match. Tewatia will once again be the dark horse for Rajasthan Royals as he can pick up crucial wickets for the side with his brilliance.

Top captains & vice captains – Leaving aside KL Rahul’s recent from after his 132* against RCB, his numbers against the Royals are fantabulous. In seven matches against them, he has 275 runs at an average and strike-rate of 55 and 127.31 respectively. He has three fifties as well to go with a top score of 95. Also, he will be looking to get the Orange Cap back from du Plessis, who surpassed him on Friday’s match against Delhi. In the match against CSK, Sanju Samson was ruthless and demolished their bowling attack. He struck seven sixes and one boundary in his gusty knock of 74 runs off 32 balls. Sanju Samson is a match-winner. He has been consistent in this format.

Smart pick – Jos Buttler, who missed the first match due to being in quarantine, will be available for the second game. Jos Buttler, among all teams, has scored the most runs against the Punjab franchise. In seven games, he has 335 runs at an average and strike-rate of 47.86 and 154.38 respectively. The right-hander has four fifties in those games with a top score of 82.

Cautious Pick – Nicholas Pooran hasn’t fired in the middle-order and there have been questions asked about Chris Gayle so there is always a possibility that Gayle might be picked at some point of time. A Small ground with a flat wicket might just be the right setting for Chris Gayle to make an impact. If they went to get in Gayle, they will have to leave out Nicholas Pooran.

My XI – KL Rahul (Captain), Sanju Samson (Vice-Captain), Jos Buttler, Rahul Tewatia, Mayank Agarwal, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Shami, Sheldon Cottrell, Jofra Archer, Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell
