Best economical pick – Martin Guptill is having a strike-rate of around 132.88 in this format and he is the leading run scorer for New Zealand in this format. Martin Guptill forms one half of perhaps the most explosive opening pair in international cricket right now. Guptill who is a veteran of the game has proven time and again that he can turn a match around with his batting. He will be their key batsman and will be expected to counter from the start.

Top captains & vice captains – He is seriously in the form of his life. If Thisara Perera had managed to win the 2^nd ODI for Sri Lanka, it would’ve ranked among one of the greatest ODI knocks in the history. But he needs to improve his bowling in order to become the best all-rounder in the world. Perera should master death-overs bowling which has been his weakness and the same has been exposed in the last two ODIs. The hard-hitting New Zealand batsman is a T20 specialist. Colin Munro who opens the innings with Martin Guptill is responsible for most of the good starts that New Zealand has while batting.

Smart pick – For years, Ross Taylor has been the pivot of a New Zealand batting line-up. The experienced player is a force of nature when he is in form, no matter what the format is. Taylor can adapt to a game quickly and it won’t be surprising to us if he manages to score big right in the beginning. Pick him and you could easily have a high-scoring game thanks to his performance.

Cautions Pick – Tim Southee has been going through a rough patch. Southee’s last 2 match figures of 1/68 and 1/47 has been very poor according to his standards. He may be go for runs in the T20, so be careful before picking him in your team.
