CricBattle Daily Fantasy Cricket League Tips

New Zealand vs Sri Lanka on January 8

The 3rd ODI between New Zealand and Sri Lanka will be a dead rubber as far as the result of the series is concerned. The hosts have already sealed the series by winning the previous 2 games. While they would look to enforce a clean sweep, Sri Lanka would hope to restore some pride by finishing on a winning note.

Best economical pick – While you have amazing picks in Martin Guptill, Colin Munro and Kane Williamson from the Kiwis, all of whom have had tremendous contributions to New Zealand’s ODI series victory, spinner Ish Sodhi is a more stable bank for points. Picking up five wickets in two matches, Ish Sodhi has taken wickets constantly in the series and looks set to become New Zealand’s frontline spinner. Sodhi is a bankable option and can get you some points with his performance in the 3rd ODI.

Top captains & vice captains – Ross Taylor has been one of the most consistent modern day batsmen in the world. A player you can always bank on, Taylor has scored over 140 runs in two games and looks to be in fine form in the ODI series. Taylor’s batting style makes him a perfect choice for your Fantasy Cricket team as he looks to build his innings without giving away his wicket cheaply. The man who hit five sixes off a Thisara Perera over, James Neesham is certainly enjoying himself in this ODI series. Neesham batted pretty decently in the second ODI as he scored 64 runs late-on in the innings. While his batting has been simply remarkable, Neesham has had quite a few good spells with balling too, picking up two wickets in the first match. The all-rounder is bound to give you points in both the innings of the game and is a player you can definitely bank on.

Smart pick – After that performance on Saturday, Thisara Perera will be one of the most common names in Cricbattle Fantasy Cricket teams. Perera truly played up to his potential as he smashed 140 runs to keep the Lankans in the game. While experts have been raving about his batting prowess, Perera is also a very efficient bowler and can get you a lot of points with the ball as well. Sri Lanka will be hoping to finish off the series on a high and chances are that Perera will play a huge part in it.

Cautions Pick – Kusal Mendis had an outstanding Test year in 2018, but his ODI form was woeful - he averaged 16.42 in 14 innings last year. In two innings in this series he has looked decent at the start of his innings, but has made no more than 18 or 20. So He may be dropped from team for the last ODI, so don’t take risk by picking him in your Cricbattle Fantasy team.

My XI – Ross Taylor (Captain), James Neesham (Vice-Captain), Ish Sodhi, Thisara Perera, Kane Williamson, Martin Guptill, Niroshan Dickwella, Matt Henry, Danushka Gunathilaka, Henry Nicholls, Lasith Malinga
