Kolkata vs Delhi on October 24

The Delhi Capitals haven’t done much wrong in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League. The teams, captained by Shreyas Iyer, have won seven out of their first ten matches and are one of the strongest contenders to finish as the table-toppers after the conclusion of the league stage. In their previous game, the Capitals lost to KL Rahul’s Kings XI Punjab by five wickets in Dubai. They are next scheduled to lock horns with the Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday, October 24 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. In their last meeting, it was Shreyas Iyer and Co, who beat the Men in Gold and Purple. The Knights, on the other hand, are hanging in the middle of the points table. Eoin Morgan and Co lost their previous match to RCB by eight wickets in Abu Dhabi itself.

Best economical pick – In the bowling department for KKR, Lockie Ferguson has arguably been the standout performer for KKR despite playing only two matches. The New Zealand speedster has four wickets at an economy of four. Even in the last game that KKR lost; he bowled with venom and didn’t allow the RCB bowlers to dominate.

Top captains & vice captains Shikhar Dhawan is the second highest run-scorer in the tournament so far with 465 runs at an average of 66.43. He is coming to this game with 4 consecutive half centuries including two consecutive centuries under his name. He scored an unbeaten half century in his last outing at Sheikh Zayed Stadium. Eoin Morgan can be deemed as the most fluent batsman for KKR in the tournament. The left-hander has scored at an average in the 40s and has played at a strike-rate of 132.62. He hasn’t scored a half-century but has chipped in with useful scores on a pretty consistent basis. Even in KKR’s last outing against DC, he scored at a strike-rate of over 200. He also needs to show his captaincy prowess.

Smart pick – The purple-cap holder Kagiso Rabada has snared 21 wickets in 10 matches at the economy rate of 7.58. He is a trump card and go-to man of Captain Shreyas Iyer whenever the team found itself in a strangled situation. Undoubtedly, Rabada will be the difference-maker for Delhi Capitals against KKR.

Cautious Pick – Prithvi Shaw played a couple of handy knocks in the first part of the tournament. However, to his sheer dismay, he has imploded in the last few contests. In the last four matches for the Capitals, the youngster has notched 11 runs at a disastrous average of 3.75. He already has had six single-digit scores and that has become concerning for the Capitals.

My XI – Shikhar Dhawan (Captain), Eoin Morgan (Vice-Captain), Lockie Ferguson, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Shreyas Iyer, Marcus Stoinis, Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Subhman Gill, Pat Cummins
