Delhi vs Mumbai on April 18

As days pass by, the league is getting interesting. On Thursday, two best bowling sides will clash. Delhi Capitals will host Mumbai Indians in a high-octane and much-awaited match. The young Delhi side has been instrumental at their pace, starting the league with a little huff & puff, now they are in a different league altogether. Shreyas’ boys have been in good shape in the last three matches. They won three consecutive matches, in which Rabada’s display has been outstanding. While Mumbai, despite having a great start, is still on-off with five wins and three losses out of eight matches so far. Having the veteran bowler Lasith Malinga in a full swing after picking up four wickets in the previous match to help his side have the last laugh. With the record’s man Alzarri Joseph confirmed to miss the rest of the tournament, Mumbai will look at veteran Sri Lankan pacer to collapse Delhi’s batting line-up. Mumbai in their first match of the season lost to Delhi Capitals with a big margin of 37 runs. Can the MI exact revenge on the in-form Delhi side?

Best economical pickChris Morris has been impressive with the ball than with the bat in this tournament. The South African bowled three overs in the last match and picked up three wickets. However, he has had troubles facing Rashid Khan and could only score 4 runs with the bat.

Top captains & vice captains – Quinton de Kock was terrific in the last two matches. There were talks about dropping him a few days earlier. But for now, he might have sealed his spot. The left-hander provided the side with a good start with a quick-fire 40 in the last match. MI will be hoping for more such exploits from him.

Colin Munro had to wait for a long time to get his opportunity in the tournament. The New Zealand cricketer finally got a chance against the SRH. In his first game of the season itself, Munro was highly impressive. The left-hander scored 40 runs from 24 balls. Although not a massive contribution, it was critical in the context of the game.

Smart pick – Mumbai had a tongue in cheek situation when Alzarri Joseph had a grueling shoulder injury as the Caribbean proved to be a record maker this season. But, in his comeback match, Malinga picked up four wickets to make his own mark for the team. Coming into this game against Delhi Capitals, he seems to be in brilliant form.

Cautious Pick – The Delhi opener Prithvi Shaw shone only in one match against Kolkata Knight Riders when he fell short of a century by just one run. But, after that, he has failed to grab eyeballs.

My XI – Quinton de Kock (Captain), Colin Munro (Vice-Captain), Chris Morris, Lasith Malinga, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Krunal Pandya
