Chennai vs Gujarat on May 15

The defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be up against the new entrants Gujarat Titans (GT) in their next group stage match of the Indian Premier League 2022. Both teams are coming to the contest after having contrasting results. While CSK lost their previous match against the five-time champions Mumbai Indians, GT thrashed the Lucknow Super Giants by 62 runs. Coming to the contest, both teams will have nothing to lose as GT has already qualified for the play-offs after securing nine victories in 12 matches. The Yellow Army, on the other hand, has lost 8 out of 12 matches and is out of the competition. However, both teams will want to win the encounter for their fans.

Best economical pick Mukesh Choudhary has been excellent with the new ball throughout the season and has 16 wickets to his name in 11 matches at an average of 22.19. He picked up 3 wickets in the previous match.

Top captains & vice captains – CSK opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad’s form has been hot and cold in this edition so far. The right-handed batter has played some excellent knocks in the tournament but has not been able to score runs consistently. Gaikwad only managed to score seven runs in his previous match, but he will look to bounce back in the next match. Hardhik Pandya has scored 344 runs batting in the middle order at an average of 38 and a strike rate of 131. He also bowled an over in the previous match and can be handy if he continues bowling.

Smart pick – GT star spinner Rashid Khan was at his absolute best as he scalped four wickets in his previous match against LSG. The 23-year-old will want to emulate his performance in the next match against the defending champions CSK. The right-arm spinner will want to take the prized scalp of MS Dhoni as well.

Cautious Pick – Mathew Wade is really struggling having managed only 78 runs in 6 matches and can be avoided for this match.

My XI – Ruturaj Gaikwad (Captain), Hardik Pandya (Vice-Captain), Mukesh Choudhary, Rashid Khan, Devon Conway, Shubman Gill, Maheesh Theeksana, Wridhiman Saha, MS Dhoni, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu
