Bangalore vs Mumbai on September 28

The Royal Challengers Bangalore will be back on the field to take on the Mumbai Indians in 10th match of IPL 2020. It is going to be Virat Kohli versus Rohit Sharma once again – one of those battles that are highly-awaited. Historically, the Mumbai Indians have had a significant upper hand over the Royal Challengers. While the Indians won 16 out of 25 games, the Challengers won only 9. Moreover, the Mumbai-based team is coming into this game after an emphatic 49-run win against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Meanwhile, RCB lost to the Kings XI Punjab by a massive margin of 97 runs in their last encounter. Hence, their NRR stands at -2.175 at this stage and that is one area where they’d like to improve. However, it won’t be as easy against MI and RCB need to be at their best if they are to challenge this opposition. Although MI are the clear favorites and have momentum on their side, they cannot take Virat Kohli and co for granted. With the likes of AB de Villiers and Aaron Finch looking to make amends for their poor show against KXIP, MI will have to be on their toes as both outfits eye their second win in IPL 2020.

Best economical pickDevdutt Padikkal made a head start to the IPL 2020 with a fine half-century. He however failed to get going in the previous match against KXIP. Padikkal will look to return back to form and give his team a solid foundation with RCB face Mumbai Indians. He has the ability to score quick runs and found the boundaries.

Top captains & vice captains – Rohit Sharma struck form against Kolkata Knight Riders by smashing 80 off 54 deliveries, top-scoring for his team when others failed after getting starts. Rohit eventually got dismissed in the 18th over after holding the innings together. He will fancy a brittle bowling line-up of RCB that got hammered by KL Rahul, who clubbed 132 the other night. AB de Villiers carries the onus of the RCB side alongside Kohli. De Villiers has played a couple of cameo knocks in the previous matches for RCB. But the franchise will expect him to play longer innings. The former South African captain, also known as Mr.360, has every shots in his textbook and will look to execute the same to benefit his side.

Smart pick – Quinton de Kock is the only wicket-keeping option available given the uncertainty clouds over Josh Philippe featuring in this game. Since Josh could be replaced by Isuru Udana, it is better to go with De Kock.

Cautious Pick – Josh Philippe caught attention with his quick-fire knocks in BBL. He is touted to be the next big thing in the limited-overs and often been said to be the next Steve Smith. Philippe however has not reflected it through his performances in the IPL.

My XI – Rohit Sharma (Captain), AB de Villiers (Vice-Captain), Devdutt Padikkal, Quinton de Kock, Trent Boult, Navdeep Saini, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary, Rahul Chahar, Aaron Finch
