Bangalore vs Hyderabad on October 31
The match 52 of the IPL 2020 will see the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad locking horns. RCB have lost both their previous matches to CSK and MI while SRH are coming off a stunning win over Delhi Capitals. The Virat Kohli-led side still needs one win to seal their place in the playoffs. They haven’t been playing their best cricket over the last couple of games. SRH, on the other hand, stunned the Capitals in their previous game and are set to take on the challenge. A loss will certainly end their hopes of making it to the playoffs. However, if they manage to win both their remaining games and reach 14 points, they would still want other results to go in their favour. The ploy of dropping Jonny Bairstow and playing Wriddhiman Saha worked wonders for David Warner and Co. and they will be looking to continue with it.
Best economical pick – After having a few lean outings by his standards, Devdutt Padikkal was back to his swashbuckling best against the Mumbai Indians. Padikkal scored a whirlwind 45-ball 73- an innings which included 12 fours and a six- and in the process he became just the second uncapped player in the history of the competition to score more than 400 runs in his debut season.
Top captains & vice captains – David Warner has led SRH from front and his knock in the previous game was the most fluent of the season. Nevertheless, the southpaw has slammed 436 runs in 12 matches at an average of 39.64 and strike-rate of 134.57. ‘Mr 360’ AB de Villiers endured a rare failure in the last game after he holes out at deep square-leg off Kieron Pollard. The last time AB batted against SRH, he smashed a match-winning 30-ball 51, something RCB will hope; he emulated the same on Saturday.
Smart pick – Rashid Khan had ticked all the boxes right, but the results have not gone in favour of SunRisers Hyderabad. But in the last match against DC, he demolished their batting order while also choking them to score runs. He picked three wickets while giving away only 7 runs in his four overs quota. The spinner is the leading wicket-taker for them, snaring 17 wickets in 12 matches.
Cautious Pick – Abdul Samad, the power-hitter, has featured in eight matches but has not got enough opportunities to bat. Contrastingly, he has also failed to prove his mettle whenever he has got the chance. With his short cameo in his first match, he had gathered a lot of praise. But the youngster has not stood up to the expectations of others.
My XI – David Warner (Captain), AB de Villiers (Vice-Captain), Devdutt Padikkal, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, Washington Sundar, Chris Morris, Josh Phillipe, Virat Kohli, T Natarajan, Wridhiman Saha
