CricBattle Daily Fantasy Cricket League Tips

Australia vs Sri Lanka on October 30

Sri Lanka landed in Australia on the back of a stunning 3-0 win over Pakistan. They were extremely confident coming into the series and almost defended 131 against Prime Ministers XI. But come the series opener, the familiar Sri Lanka of the past two years turned up. After opting to bowl first, they let Australia’s openers David Warner and Aaron Finch off the hook to concede 233 runs in 20 overs. They were never going to chase it down but finishing on 99/9 after 20 overs was bigger embarrassment for them. The second T20I at The Gabba is a must-win encounter for them and no wonder Australia are the favourites. Lasith Malinga has got to motivate his troops somehow and hope that they put up a good show and give the hosts a run for their money. Aaron Finch and David Warner got Australia off to a great start in the previous game. Both of them will earn crucial Fantasy points again and should be picked in your Cricbattle Fantasy team. Glenn Maxwell is also important for the home team’s cause and can add quick runs. For Sri Lanka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Oshada Fernando are important. They might play this game as well and must’ve got the idea of Australian conditions now. Lasith Malinga is a brilliant bowler and expects him to come back strong at The Gabba.

Best economical pick – After a successful series in Pakistan, Danushka Gunathilaka comes to Australia in good form. The opener was instrumental for the Islanders scoring a half-century in the T20I series and a memorable century in the decisive ODI match earlier. He is an explosive batsman and could revel under pressure.

Top captains & vice captains – David Warner returned to form with a bang on Sunday as he smashed his maiden T20 international hundred to celebrate his 33rd birthday in style. Australia rode on Warner's unbeaten 100 off 56 balls to post a mammoth 233 for 2 against Sri Lanka in the first T20I at the Adelaide Oval. His knock was laced with 10 boundaries and four sixes. Warner is the fourth Aussie batsman after Shane Watson, Glenn Maxwell and Aaron Finch to score a century in the shortest format in international cricket. Warner was involved in a 122-run partnership for the first wicket with captain Aaron Finch, who made 64, and then added another 107 for the second wicket Glenn Maxwell, who scored 62 off just 28 balls.

Smart pick – Glenn Maxwell was superb against Sri Lanka in his follow-up gut punch to David Warner and Aaron Finch's 122-run opening stand, crushing 62 off 28 balls after being promoted ahead of Steve Smith. It helped Australia to 2-233 at Adelaide Oval.

Cautions Pick – Australian pace spearhead Mitchell Starc has decided his brother's wedding is more important than a game of cricket, pulling out of the second Twenty20 against Sri Lanka to witness him tie the knot. Billy Stanlake or Sean Abbott are likely to replace Starc as Australia target an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-game series.

My XI – David Warner (Captain), Aaron Finch (Vice-Captain), Glenn Maxwell, Danushka Gunathilaka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Adam Zampa, Lasith Malinga, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Dasun Shanaka, Avishka Fernando
