Australia vs Pakistan on November 3

Not so long ago, the Number 1 T20I team – Pakistan, was beaten in its own backyard by Sri Lanka. A whitewash at home isn’t something that is really pleasing. Since then, some restructuring has been done with the side. There is a new captain. Some of the senior players have been left aside. And now, with a slightly different looking side, Pakistan will start their new tour down under as they look not only to prepare for the T20 World Cup next year but also to keep the grip firm on the top rank. Led by Babar Azam, Pakistan will be eyeing to dominate this format as they did a few months ago. However, Australia will undoubtedly come hard at them. It is the same team that took Sri Lanka down just a couple of days ago which will play Pakistan. The bowlers have done a fabulous job in the recently-concluded series. But, the only concern for them at this point is that the inexperienced middle-order hasn’t been tested with the top three batsmen playing so far. A couple of important players are away for this series but that shouldn’t bother Aaron Finch. They will want another series win under their belt.

Best economical pick – Adam Zampa was the highest wicket taker for Australia in the last series against Sri Lanka. The spinner is a natural wicket taker and will definitely be one of the players to watch out for in the first T20I against Pakistan.

Top captains & vice captains – David Warner was struggling to put bat to ball in Ashes 2019, managing just 95 runs in 10 innings at a horror average of 9.5. It seemed as if nothing went right for Warner who was made Stuart Broad's bunny in England. A month later, the struggles in Old Blight seem a distant past for David Warner who has single-handedly demolished Sri Lanka in the recently-concluded 3-match T20I series. David Warner starred in Australia's 3-0 whitewash of Sri Lanka, hitting 217 runs without even getting out once over 3 match. The ace Pakistan batsman Babar Azam is currently the top-ranked T20I batsman of the world. The 25-year-old has consistently performed for the team in the shortest format of the game. Azam has been consistently averaging around 50 in the format. As a result, he has also been named the T20I skipper of the side.

Smart pick – One of the most prolific all-rounders for Pakistan, Imad Wasim is a threat for the Aussies with bat and ball. The all-rounder who is Ranked No.2 in the ICC T20I bowling rankings can hit big blows down the order also. Imad Wasim is just the right kind of player you need in your fantasy team who will get you points in both the innings.

Cautions Pick – Kane Richardson played all the games of the Sri Lankan series so. Unfortunately, he has been the least impressive of the seamers. While he has been economical when it comes to conceding the runs, the wickets column has been empty. With Australia looking for a settled bowling unit for the next year’s World Cup, Richardson has to be amongst the wickets soon.

My XI – David Warner (Captain), Babar Azam (Vice-Captain), Imad Wasim, Aaron Finch, Adam Zampa, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins, Mohammad Irfan, Asif Ali, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Sohail
