Champions Trophy 2017 Schedule
The 8th edition of the Champions Trophy is set to start from June 1 in England. Champions Trophy has been the second most coveted event in the ODI format of the game in the world cricket after the fifty overs World Cups. The Tournament will be hosted by England. Interestingly, the previous edition of the tournament was also hosted by the same country back in the year 2013.
The top 8 teams in the ICC ODI rankings are participating in this tournament and they are divided into two groups. World champions Australia, the host England, the winners of second edition of Champions trophy New Zealand and the underdogs Bangladesh are placed in Group A. World No.1 ODI team South Africa, the defending champions India, the unpredictable Pakistan and 2002 Champions trophy champions Sri Lanka will be fight on Group B. The top 2 teams of each group will qualify for the semifinals.
The hosts England will face the most improved Bangladesh (who are making a comeback to Champions Trophy after a long gap of 11 years) in the opening encounter of 2017 Champions Trophy on June 1. The tournament will be played on only 3 venues across England which are The Oval, Edgbaston and Cardiff from June 1 to June 18.
